Washington, DC – Here is a statement from Ethan Rome, executive director of Health Care for America Now, on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s anticipated decision to fully participate in Obamacare’s Medicaid provisions and extend benefits to 307,000 New Jerseyans:
“Gov. Christie’s announcement is momentous. It sends a powerful message to every Republican governor and state lawmaker that it’s time to stop playing games with people’s lives and to fully participate in Medicaid.
“His decision says to every Republican that implementing the Affordable Care Act is the right thing to do. Gov. Christie’s action is good for New Jersey’s hospitals, businesses, state and local governments and, most importantly, the people in his state who need health care. This is a great day for health care and for all Americans who believe solving problems is more important than playing politics.”
